Announcements

Moonstone is looking into the possibility of bringing back our after school program.  Here are some of the details...

  • The program would consist of pick up at Meredith by two Moonstone teachers at the 3:09 dismissal time.  Upon arrival at Moonstone the children would have a snack, then engage in an art project aligned with the Preschool curriculum.  Any remaining time at Moonstone, the children will be free to participate in afternoon stories or for homework.  All children would be picked by 6pm.
  • The program would run September - June.
  • We will do pick ups Monday-Friday on full school days.  We cannot offer the program on half days, or public school closure days.
  • We will be able to accommodate 10 children, Kindergarten-2nd grade.

Vision

Early education is the most important time of our lives. The foundations of knowledge acquisition, interaction, physicality, who we are, and how to love are delicately formed in our earliest years. At Moonstone preschool—a collaborative, arts-intensive, creatively expressive educational facility—we focus on helping the child explore. Embracing facets of John Deweyʼs holistic approach to preschool education, we create an all-inclusive, effective education environment.

Our method of utilizing each of Gardnerʼs intelligences—linguistic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial, mathematical, kinesthetic, musical, and naturalistic—as a doorway to understanding creates a curriculum that allows each individual to welcome learning in the way that they are most comfortable. By remembering and using the intelligences in a fun, loving and arts-based setting we are able to stimulate each child’s mind in a developmentally appropriate way with multiple styles of learning. We know the key to having children listen to us lies in our ability to listen to them. Therefore, we put a lot of our energy into building healthy relationships and helping them to do the same.
